Genital herpes is a s3xually transmitted disease that is caused by the Herpes Simplex Virus (HSV) but it’s initially asymptomatic and the symptoms only start appearing when the infection spreads. Below are some symptoms of genital herpes you should know in order to treat it at the right time and prevent further complications.
Itching: “Itching seems to be a common problem; however, it can be severe and problematic, itching in the lower part of the legs and feet is common among diabetic patients all you have to do is apply a good moisturiser  to control the itching so slather a good amount of moisturizer on the affected area and avoid scratching to get relief”.
Fever and malaise: “A herpes infection also shows flu-like symptoms such as fever and malaise and many times patients also experience headache and myalgia (muscle pain)”.
Dysuria: “Patients also experience dysuria or pain while passing urine and many times, primary HSV infection in the cervix is confused with other STDs like Chlamydia trachomatis and Neisseria gonorrhea but dysuria with inflammation becomes a distinguish feature in such cases”.
Swelling of the lymph nodes: “A herpes infection also leads to swelling or enlargement of lymph nodes, swelling usually appears one week after the infection”.
Clear and mucoid discharge: “A smelly discharge is also a characteristic of an herpes infection, the discharge is usually smelly and mucoid in texture”.
